Hi Suzanne
We run beginners classes on a Tuesday night and Intermediate Classes on a Thursday night. It's best to check out the projects and see if they are something you'd like to make. Its often hard to determine what is beginner or intermediate depending on what sort of jewellery making you do. Someone advanced in beadwork may be a beginner in wire-work etc. We run evening classes in Bath and Stroud on Wednesday evenings too. Hope this helps. Thanks for your enquiry

I make my own steampunk inspired jewellery too - but it's more feminine than most. It's got a Victorian / vintage feel - lots of pearls, charms, glass beads and the odd Steampunk motif! Check me out!

Hi Arabella
For example 10 rows of 15's, would be 10 rows of Size 15 beads. Peyote works like this:- Thread a beadling needle with Nymo thread, pick up 10 seed beads ( you decide the size). You may want to add a stopper bead at the end to avoid you beads falling off. Then to add the second row you pick up a bead, miss the first bead in the previous row and sew through the second bead in the previous row. Pick up another bead, miss the next bead in the previous row and sew through the next one. You continue like this along the row until you reach the end. On the next row you repeat again. It hard to explain in words. I would recommend loggin onto the Bead and Button website. If you register there you can gain access to their free tutorials and they have a great section for basic stitches which has diagrams for peyote stitch. www.beadandbutton.com
Hope this helps

I love the choker but I'm a beginner (very) and do not understand the instruction -- what does bead 10 rows of 15, etc., mean? ten rows up and down, how many deep? Pls help.
Thanks.

Hi Jill
Soft crimps used with the crimping tool are not reliable as a finishing to secure the ends of a necklace. They look good and are great for keeping beads in place, but keep to hard crimps to finish your ends.

Hi there

I'm Gemma and I live in Bristol. I LOVE steampunk jewellery. I make and sell it online. I get my vintage watch movements from a lovely lady in Texas in the US http://www.etsy.com/shop/amystevensoriginals

I've also been given the odd broken watch or clock by friends from which I've extracted the gears/cogs and balance movements. I'd love to get a look at the book mentioned above, but haven't seen a copy in a shop to pick up and browse yet
